Review of Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) by Kip M — 11 May 2008
A movie that will surely divide everyone in the room. This beautifully shot breakthrough film from Peter Weir (The Truman Show) centers on the disappearance of many girls while on a school-sponsored field trip.
Weir is more interested in the psychological effects on the remaining girls and staff than on solving the case and that may frustrate some. But for the patient viewers who stick it out, this is one powerful experience.
