Review of Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) by Spencer G — 13 Jul 2011
This movie is so subtle, so gorgeous, and yet so terrifying. The thought that these girls disappeared along with one of their teachers on a million year old rock formation seems simple enough, but with a harrowing screenplay and beautiful cinematography, this movie pushes the limits of the mind.
With it's unresolved ending, this film is, oddly, one of the finest and most satisfying films I have ever seen. Definitely on my top 10, if not top 5.
