Peter Weir crafts a very moody and at times unsettling film. Picnic at Hanging Rock is a great little film. Theres alot of psychoanalytic debate to be had with it. The film never resolves any of its mystery.
But thats a good thing. Sometimes a nicely wrapped ending is never the right way to go. I loved the film. The pan-flute score by Zamphire is incredible. Its fits perfectly with the incredible visuals- faces in rocks, distorted light and Phallic symbols.
Well made and unfortunaly little seen by most.
