If you've never seen Peter Weir's 1975 ethereal mystery, settle in to your most comfortable chair and prepare to be astounded. The story (based on a novel by Joan Lindsay) centers on a group of Australian schoolgirls who take a day trip to a local landmark on St.
Valentine's Day, 1900. What happens there and to the people who return to Appleyard College will stay with you for a long time. A pure cinematic delight.
