Review of Pickpocket (1959) by Nick M — 13 Jun 2012
Pickpocket is a fertile example of international cinema. The motives of the protagonist are not easily explained or defendable. At first I thought he was picking pockets to raise money to help his ailing mother, but apparently he actually does it because of his deluded superiority complex.
So of course, this isn't a traditional film by any stretch, but it's a classic and worth watching for die hard cinephiles.
