Review of Pi (1998) by Roy C — 28 Feb 2011
As a first venture into full length features, Aronofsky's "Pi" is quite possibly one of the most intellectually satisfying films I've seen. There are definite flaws in the story telling but it doesn't detract from the intensity throughout the entire run time.
The cinematography is a fantastic jumping off point to Aronofsky's artistic talent. Every film past this was a masterpiece, and even though this movie was slightly lesser than the other 4, it was an excellent genesis for his career.
