Highly stylized and highly surreal, 'pi' is proof that creativity can exist, indeed flourish, within modest monetary means .. Aronofsky has captured the essence of a the life of a genius, with a distinct atmosphere of paranoia and obsession, described through bravura cinematography and a haunting score .
