Review of Pi (1998) by Frances H — 19 Jan 2013
What is this film? A psychological drama about a genius's mental disintegration? A suspense film noir about Wall Street types trying to corner the market by using a mathematical analysis? A religious film about finding the ultimate truth through numbers? A sci fi flick about a man with a computer component implanted in his head? Whatever it is, it has beautiful, stark black and white photography, a great script, good acting and directing, and it's really intriguing, even if I didn't completely understand it.
Very unique, unlike any other movie or even genre I've ever seen.
