Review of Pi (1998) by Grant H — 03 Dec 2014
Excellent movie. In Darren Aronofsky's debut picture, Pi, he creates a visual and audio mindfest that pair perfectly with the thrilling and disturbing tale of a man obsessed with numbers, one long number in particular.
The paranoia and hallucinations shown to the audience from the perspective of Max, as well as the untrustworthy narration by the character, are delivered so disturbing and cleverly by Aronofsky and Gullette that the audience almost feels they're the ones hallucinating alongside Max.
