Review of Phone Booth (2003) by Jerard W — 25 Jan 2010
"Phone Booth" is a movie about atmosphere in a tense place and time and I'm glad Joel Schumacher took me to this place and time.
Not only is this is his simplistic work but its also his best showing what he can do as a director when he doesn't over produces scenes so that the audience has no involvement. Colin Farrell and Forest Whitaker act out their roles wonderfully, I especially enjoyed how through the detective's character development how he and this publicist trapped in this phone booth communicate telepathically. However, I wish it went into a little more detail with the subplots that would lead up to those tense and suspenseful events around this booth and the over acting extras that really distracted the true essence of this taught thriller.
