Review of Phone Booth (2003) by Anthony B — 11 Sep 2012
An impressive cast in a great film. what more could you want?
Suspense? got it. Trickery? got it. And a great storyline? what do you think? The film is entertaining from the slick easy to start through the suspenseful middle right through 'til the satisfying end.
Keifer Sutherland's voice was perfect for the sniper, and Colin Farrell was actually really good as the sniper's gineau pig down in the phone booth.
As the frightening events unfold and the seemingly know-all sniper toys with Farrell's emotions, Farrell has to choose what is really important to him real quick or else somebody else will die in front of TV cameras and the police force alike.
Joel Schumacher, who directed the two worst Batman films to date, does really well here, drawing great performances from Farrell, Forest Whitaker, Sutherland, Katie Holmes and Radha Mitchell to name a few, and has a simple yet effective soundtrack behind the film.
Highly Recommended.
