Review of Phoenix Forgotten (2017) by R A — 20 Apr 2017
Save your money and wait until you can stream it. The best word I can use to describe this film is lazy. The beginning of the movie was intriguing as it laid out the plot, but amid the pacing issues and fluff scenes the plot went into a boring, downward spiral.
The movie ending was as you would expect, but worse. I am still nauseous, as the last 30 minutes or so (when they found the lost footage) was a lot of yelling, screaming, bobbing camera and unidentifiable film. The climax and ending of this movie can be written in 3 sentences. The directors had a good thing going and then said eff it. Very disappointed. The only good thing is that the viewers did feel a connection to the 3 missing teens. I am not joking when I say that when the movie ended, everyone in the theater was either laughing (at how ridiculous the last half of the movie and ending was) or sitting there with a WTF look on their face.
