I think it was Maher who said something to the effect of having done a lot of laughing and weeping during this one. For me, the weeping started within about 20 seconds of seeing Dench. There is a shot where she just sits there, looking at a statue of the famous virgin.

Something about the lighting, her energy and what little I knew about the plot... damn. A very good film all in all, but especially where a few such moments are concerned.
