Review of Philomena (2013) by Valerie L — 20 Feb 2016
Heartwarming and heartbreaking story about a woman's search for the son she was forced to give up fifty years earlier as an unwed, teenaged mother. A journalist helps her uncover the truth about the common practice by the nuns at Roscrea abbey where Philomena was living of selling babies to American couples.
The search comes full circle and is wonderfully told and portrayed.
