Review of Philomena (2013) by Alex T — 26 Mar 2014
A simple, but very real film, which owes a great deal to its two main actors: Coogan and Dench. If these two were unlikeable, the film would be too. But, we feel Philomena's pain, we feel Whitmarsh's passion to help her, and we, well certainly I, feel a hatred towards the Catholic Church.
It is a profoundly affecting drama, with the blossoming of an unlikely relationship.
