Review of Philomena (2013) by Jocey D — 07 Jan 2016
Heart wrenching true tale of a mother's lifelong search for the son the good catholic sisters took away from her. The Catholic Church in its ever enlightened wisdom thought it best to separate babies from their shameful young Irish mothers.
It's amazing to have revealed all the "goodness" done in the name of the church over the centuries and to have it survive all their shame, abuse, scandal and deceit. It's all a big lie to keep control.
This movie is gentle and lovely. Judi Denvh and Steve Coogan do not disappoint.
