Review of Philadelphia (1993) by Love M — 07 Jul 2010
I've put this movie of for a while as I only had it on video and felt it needed my complete attention. So, although I felt dissappointed (More) at the end as I thought the execution of the ending wasn't that great in my opinion which is the same as "The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas", it didn't emotionally grab me but this is an inspiration and powerful film with Hanks and Washington stealing each scene that they were in and especially Hanks, giving a performance of a life time! This film shouldn't be over looked and should be watched throughout generations, especially as the story is so compelling.
Although, the issue portrayed isn't brushed aside anymore and people arn't that ignorant about Aids, Homosexuality etc its still about, with the small majority of ignorant people. I think this film brings all these issues to light and executes is perfectly! Fantastic film, i'm just slightly dissappointed at the end!
