Pacino and Mirren are in top form here in a movie that isn't quite sure exactly what it wants to say beyond the many sensational headlines of the Phil Spector murder case. Pacino is so exciting to watch that this film should have been re-written as more of an illuminating character study instead of a rather pat legal procedural.
