Review of Phenomenon (1996) by David B — 16 Mar 2010
This was so much better than I was expecting. Not quite a masterpiece, but it was engaging and moving. I really cared about what happened to the characters. Supporting actors Duvall and Whitaker are masters of their crafts and do sterling work here, but Travolta doesn't look out of place alongside them.
In certain details the story reminded me of both the Green Mile and Unbreakable but is still a different kind of film. Family friendly too. Thumbs up!
