This started out as an intriguing sci-fi fantasy about a man who develops superhuman powers following a supernatural event. Unfortunately, in the second half, it's explanations of Johnnyboys powers turn a decent movie into a dire new-age drama with a religious subplot that we should all love each other, or whatever.
