Great period movie set in the 1930's during depression years in Australia. The movie crew did a great job to re-create the atmosphere and settings of the time. A heart warming story of triumph against the odds. I am biased though as I love horse racing.
Compare this with seabiscuit (a movie made with 40 times the budget of phar lap) and phar lap wins by the length of the straight EVERY time!!
