I guess I'm a bit of sentimental sap but I couldn't resist, Melbourne Cup Day and i'd never seen this film...now all boxes ticked.

This is actually a great film it completely runs rings around the recent film The Cup...it has so much more going for it. Although they are different this film was far more compelling and the characters where far more believable.

Phat Lap (the horse) was a phenomenon and this film captured both the on & off the track world of this horse and the politics & degenerate gamblers that I believe brought it to his end.

All in all a great Aussie film on an amazing horse, bugger The Cup just hire this film.
