Review of Phantoms (1998) by Baurushan J — 28 Jul 2013
The story is about two sisters named Lisa and Jenny Pailey played by Rose McGowan and Joanna Going who enter a peaceful town in Snowfield, Colorado. When they discover their land is deserted except for a few dead people, the two sisters are soon joined by Sheriff Bryce Hammond played by Ben Affleck and his deputies Stu Wargle played by Liev Schreiber and Steve Shanning played by Nicky Katt.
After the five conclude that their entire town is missing or dead, they find a scribbled message that mentions "Timothy Flyte" and the "Ancient Enemy". After Stu gets attacked by a bizarre creature that sucks out his brain, Hammond radios for help.
Timothy Flyte appears played by Peter O'Toole who is a British professor and explains the theory of the Ancient Enemy which is the name of these creatures and they periodically emerging from inside the Earth to decimate civilizations.
One of the many underrated I have seen. When I first saw this movie, it was an epic, phantomic horror thriller. When I watched this recently, it didn't match my expectations but it was still as good as I remember it.
No one should better be hating on this movie because this movie is the bomb (and so was Affleck)! Phantoms gets a 8.5/10.
