Another masterpiece from P.T. Anderson, marred only by its slightly crazy ending, which works in its own way, but departs from the tone and texture of what preceded it. Daniel Day-Lewis delivers perhaps his most subtle (and effective) performance to date, 90 percent of which is driven by his mysterious, magnetic eyes.
