Review of Phantom Thread (2017) by Jon O — 22 Jan 2018
Paul Thomas Anderson's "Phantom Thread" is haunting, beautiful and sad. In perhaps his last screen role as Reynolds, Daniel Day-Lewis is amazing. Lesley Manville is stellar as his Sister.
Vicky Krieps is vulnerable as his muse and lover Alma. "Phantom Thread" is about the sadness that perpetuates, not the one that heals. In the end there is the possibility of the profound sadness that heals loss in "Phantom Thread".
