Daniel Day-Lewis gives a great performance here, and his reputation as one of the greatest actors ever remains untouched. I was really sad to learn that this was to be his final performance as he is retiring from acting, and therefore my expectations going into this were very high.

Despite the great performances, the movie itself was underwhelming. Maybe future viewings will change my mind but the story just left me wanting more and was somewhat unsatisfying. Still, I did for the most part find it to be a good movie, but I wanted so much more.
