A beautiful piece of cinema that I am afraid many might find a little slow paced and uneventful. The glorious soundtrack and crisp, elegant cinematography match perfectly the refinement of this wonderful script of Paul Thomas Anderson.
I found this movie charming and memorable, with the incredible high level of acting offered by Daniel Day Lewis, Vicky Krieps and Lesley Manville making it a real joy to watch. Anyone who I believe has good taste for films will be able to recognize the mastery.
The character of Reynolds is sumptuous in his moments of weakness and reluctant acceptance of love. Vicky Krieps is a great surprise and she is almost capable of stealing the show with her viscerally natural portrait of Alma.
I felt excited about the odd shyness and the mysterious discrepancies of this romance.
