Pete's Dragon is a solid modern adaption of a silly 70's Disney musical and a beautiful movie overall. Unfortunately it features a lot of cliché characters and a predictable story. Still, the movie is definitely fresh, and will appeal to most kids and modern families, at least more so than the 1977 original.
