Simple but surprisingly emotional, Pete's Dragon exceeded my expectations and effectively makes you care for it's characters. More importantly while the tropes used are familiar, such as human progression butting up against nature, the movie doesn't beat you over the head with them and instead tells a story about loneliness and finding where you belong.
