Review of Pete's Dragon (2016) by Ben T — 19 Aug 2016
"Pete's Dragon" is a fun remake that shows the up and coming talent of David Lowry as a director and boast a great cast, a lot more heart then I expected, and some wonderful effects to bring everyone's favorite dragon, Elliot, to life.
The film looks gorgeous, and my jaw honestly dropped at how beautiful some of the cinematography was. The dragon looks great and the CGI that brings him to life is really well done. There really wasn't a bad performance and the cast pretty much knocked it out of the park, especially the kid who played Pete.
The film falters a little in the writing, as the script can be a little on the weaker side sometimes. Overall, I found this film incredibly entertaining and truly gorgeous and if you like the original movie then the reboot shouldn't disappoint.
It's a must-see for families and Disney fans alike.
