Review of Pete's Dragon (2016) by Thaddaeus D — 14 Aug 2016
Perky, Magical, and overall a delightful family flick; Pete's Dragon continues Disney's Live-Action remake renaissance streak going by presenting this surprisingly heart-warming and beautiful film.
The reasons why the 2016 Pete's Dragon is better than it's original classic are: beautiful and realistic cgi including Elliot the Dragon, the characters are very believable and relatable especially Oakes Fegely's Pete and very shockingly Bryce Dalls Howard's Grace, fixing all the plotholes the original left unresolved, and never really missed a beat.
My only 2 issues with the film is Karl Urban's Gavin is very underwhelming and cliche as the main antagonist and the some scenes were predictable. Overall a Brilliant Film for the entire family and proving once again Disney is the studio that can't be beat.
