Review of Pete's Dragon (2016) by Robert W — 22 Aug 2016

I just got back from seeing Pete's Dragon in 3-D (a fun experience for this movie) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I wasn't too sure about how the story would unfold about a boy and a dragon. It's completely different from the original movie from 1977.

For one, it's not a musical. I loved the sense of wonder and awe at a magical creature of fantasy. The characters are completely believable and don't detract from the theme of the movie. If you're looking for a romp in a charming display of fantasy with no overt social messages, then go see Pete's Dragon.

I think you'll enjoy it as much as I did! :D.
