Review of Pete's Dragon (1977) by Nat G — 25 Jul 2009
After the success of the two London films Mary Poppins & Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Disney went ahead and made another live action/animation film, this time set in America. I don't know if because it's set in America, this film lacks substance, being over two hours long this film really drags.
The plot could have easily been cut to 80mins, as it feels like they have packed out this film with lots of songs, and they don't mean much they are just fillers. It is also a shame that the Dragon didn't appear more, seeing as the film is called Pete's Dragon, their wasn't much of the dragon.
Today this film looks dated, dull and is very slow, the only reason to watch this film is if your a Disney fan, and even if you are you will find yourself dozing off.
