Review of Pete's Dragon (1977) by Sarah H — 02 Mar 2008
The film was a childhood classic when I was still in grade school. Although I only saw it once in 1st grade, I was hoping my mother would purchase it for me when I was young, and sadly, she never did. Though I did own the audio book to this film, and it included two songs from the film, which was so cool, because I kept listening to it! The film kind of reminded me of the two other Disney films: Mary Poppins, and Bedknobs and Broomsticks, which I actually had the privilege to view them years after viewing this film.
And similar to the two aforementioned, the visuals were fun and exciting. The song choices were fun, too! Somehow, I felt a little bored with the young boy in the film, but he did not derailed the film at all.
And it has been a while since I saw this film, but I'm curious, where did the Dragon come from anyway?
