This is one movie that is NOT redeemed by nostalgia. I loved this as a kid, and can usually appreciate things I liked as a kid, but Pete's Dragon doesn't quite ride the nostalgia... It probably didn't hurt that I had recently been burned by LAIR, but I swear this isn't anti-dragon bias.
