Review of Pete's Dragon (1977) by Robert C — 15 Aug 2008
Back in a time where filmmakers weren't afraid to combine the choreographed reality of the broadway stage and the imaginative innovation of film. The music is smart, emotional, and memorable. It's a power children's adventure that holds onto great morals. My only worry about the film is that it is a bit crude at moments for kids, a bit lengthy, and also a bit dated (regardless of its broadway style). It's definitely a treasure and one of my favorite musicals.
