Review of Peter Pan Live! (2014) by Ulla D — 06 Dec 2014
I loved it, I just had to take a star off because I don't think that Christopher Walkin's voice was strong enough to play Captain Hook.
"Peter Pan" tells the story of "the boy who won't grow up" and his Lost Boys in search for a suitable mother. Peter finds himself at the Darlings house, in search of his shadow. He first meets Wendy, the eldest of three children and the only daughter. When she attempts to sew his shadow back on, Peter sees her as a potential mother and asks her to come back to Neverland, to live with him and be a mother to him and The Lost Boys. Wendy however won't go without her two brothers, Michael and John. The boys agree to go and Peter teaches all how to fly before he leads them back to Neverland with his fairy, Tinker Bell.
Meanwhile, Captain Hook and his band of pirates, including Smee, are hatching a plan to distroy Neverland and seek revenge on Peter for cutting off Hook's hand and feeding it to the crocodile Tick Tock. Hook was wearing a watch on the hand that was lost and it's still ticking, hence the names of Hook and Tick Tock. In the meantime, Tick Tock liked the hand, and now wants more and is following Captain Hook. When news reaches the pirates about Wendy, they too see her as a potential mom, and fight Peter and The Lost Boys over her.
As always, the Indians are at war with The Lost Boys. However, a truce is reached when The Lost Boys see Tiger Lilly, the Indian leader as a friend and unite in the common cause to fight Captain Hook and save Neverland.
And of course what would a good story be without a possible story? This one is between Peter, Wendy, and Tinker Bell, although Peter doesn't really notice it. Tinker Bell, however, does and becomes very jealous and protective of Peter towards Wendy. A great story for the whole family!
