Review of Peter & the Wolf (2006) by John A — 06 Nov 2009
Fantastic stop motion animation and mercifully dialogue-free, the film works well as a children's tale that includes rich textures and an occasional sense of real danger. The music also comes in at nice moments, as the filmmakers don't feel the need to have the music playing throughout.
The bit of extra flesh that they put on the story works to enhance, rather than detract from Prokofiev's original.
