Pet Sematary Two (1992) -- [4.0] -- Mary Lambert returns to direct the sloppy, uneven sequel. She's working with a solid cast that includes uber-baddie Clancy Brown (Highlander, Carnivale), Anthony Edwards, and "T2" rising star Edward Furlong.

There are a handful of inspired moments in the movie, including some beautiful outdoor cinematography from Oscar-winner Russell Carpenter, some nifty dream sequences, and an emotionally compelling car crash scene.

But the script is unfocused, at one point shifting our attention entirely to a set of (albeit more interesting) supporting characters. If it could have pulled together in the end, I'd give "Pet Sematary Two" more credit, but the climax turns out to be the most contrived and disappointing part of the whole endeavor.

Add to that a disgusting score unworthy of a made-for-cable movie, and this sequel is down for the count.
