Review of Pet Sematary (1989) by Greg A — 13 Oct 2011
I have problems with certain sequences in this movie dealing with the past memories of the wife's mangled sister in that it was more confusing and over-acted than it was scary or effective at telling the story and I just did not believe in Dale Midkiff's portrayal of Mr. Creed.
Yet! The saving grace and the real star of this film to me is Fred Gwynne as Jud, the neighbor with a heart of gold, this role is his! When I read Pet Sematary it is eerie to note that I heard Fred Gwynne's voice when reading Jud's conversations which is so awesome!
This movie may be a mixed bag for me yet it holds a huge sentimental place in my heart that I have watched again and again for.
