Review of Pet Sematary (1989) by Evan A — 31 Mar 2013
Stephen King is very hit-and-miss. This one is a quaint, camp take on the monkey's paw. A senile Herman Munster doesn't think a little girl should know about her cat dying, so he makes her dad bury the cat in an Native American Burial Ground.
This turns the cat into an asshole zombie cat. King does a cameo as the priest at the funeral. The film makes a strong case for euthanasia with the wife's telling of her childhood horror story and the phrase "Sometimes dead is better.
" "Fuck off, hairball!".
