Review of Pet Sematary (1989) by Bill M — 27 May 2014
I don't know how this movie holds up as an adaptation of kings book, I only know what I see, ans what I saw was a fuck-nuts insane movie, it shouldnt work at all, it walks along and falls over the narrow knife edge of being a good or bad film, it veers dementedly between hilariously camp unintentional humor and nightmarish terror, every scene is heightened to a fairly intense degree, at a certain point of watching you feel like your going mad watching it.
This is a unique, weird fucking film, the filmakers never seem to know were to pitch it and it goes all over the place in a Schizophrenic way , it's also full of amazing, bizzare and truly horrifying scenes that stick in your head in an odd, unsettling way.
What the fuck is this film, as I sit there and the ramones title song "i don't wanna be buried in a pet semetary" blares over the closing credits im truly not sure, but it's definitely a fucking amazing thing to watch.
