Review of Persona (2008) by Machelle A — 24 Nov 2007
A difficult film, certainly, but narrative enough to maintain a throughline between the deconstructed imagery. Much has already been written about Bergman's technique of demonstrating that indeed, this is a film that was made, and we can see the parts and parcels of the contstruction.
However, those very same images create such a feeling of disconnect and discomfort that they transcend technique.
