Review of Persona (1966) by Tracy S — 06 Mar 2008
By far the most experimental, and therefore least accessible, of the Bergman films I've seen. It would be a great educational film on auteurship, for Bergman basically makes all his techniques used so subtly in his masterworks explicit, thus creating a study in self-reflexivity and deconstructionism.
Wow. I just sounded really film major-y. I apologize. Check it out if you're interested in Bergman's style in a fairly academic sense, skip otherwise guilt-free.
