Review of Persona (1966) by Orlok N — 16 May 2008
Character study? Sure! About what, about who? I have no idea and I don't care. Bergman's mysterious metaphorical masterpiece still stands as one of the best art cinema ever made. The opening credits with serious of still shots is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen on film, a serious of symbols just thrown right at you from the beginning.
Maybe one of the most experimental movies ever made, it could be interpreted in so many ways, that you cant even imagine. If you have a chance, try to watch this movie again with a comment from people who study films, some scenes become a lot better after listening to them.
