Review of Persona (1966) by Mike T — 20 Mar 2009
Ingmar Bergman conveys the most unspoken elements of the human mind with intimacy and vision, bringing about a vivid cinematic poem that I will not soon forget. As important as this film's subtext and psychoanalytical content is its gorgeous, sometimes disturbing metaphorical imagery.
Bergman utilizes every tool he has as a filmmaker, and the result is a piece of art that works simply as an experience, but also as a resonant examination of tortured minds.
