Review of Persona (1966) by Tim N — 19 Aug 2009
It's clear that this not only inspired Performance, but, in terms of the music, Jerry Goldsmith's score for Planet of the Apes. Released in 1966, this film certainly gives the lie to the myth of the wonderful 1960s.
Don't let the Lynchian movements put you off - if you can take the subtitles, or know Swedish, this is a powerful and compelling psychodrama - as straightforward as you or me.
