Review of Persona (1966) by Matthew L — 03 Oct 2009
Beautifully filmed head trip about an actress who refuses to speak, and the nurse who is tending to her who forge a bond that blurrs the line between their two identitites, is not quite the masterpiece its reputation suggests, but its flashes of surrealism and haunting atmosphere make for a very good film.
There is much to contemplate here, but the final result is not as satisfying as one would hope.
