Review of Persepolis (2007) by Alvaro M — 07 Aug 2009
Amazing, excellent animated film. Nothing to do with Disney/Pixar or the Hollywood industry in general, but thoroughly worth watching all the same. Perhaps best understood by adults, but geared at a general audience.
It tells a pretty complete story of recent Iranian history as seen through the eyes of an endearing girl coming of age in the 80s and 90s. I hope they do another one eventually to include the events of 2009 and the current revolution.
It makes you feel such empathy and sympathy for Iranian people.
