Marjane's grandmother: Keep your dignity and be true to yourself.
A film so relevant in todays society it should be watched by everyone. A unique biographical tale, from an Iranian woman, struggling to find her identity in the world she occupies. Humourous at times, the film follows the interesting tale of Marjan, whose life is full of excitement, adventure and prejudice. She comes across as a brave and bold figure, with immense confidence and one that everyone can relate too, no matter how different we may be. The film strives to challenge beliefs held by minorities in today's society, and succeeds in this, because it is so honest in the manner it tells it. All of this and I havent mentioned the art of the animation. The brilliant art form captures the audience and draws them into the world of Marjan in the midst of the Iranian revolution. Truly breathtakingly simple at times, the film is immaculately presented. A beautifully crafted film that oozes character and emotion and must be seen.
